Dr. Frauke Goll jointly leads the appliedAI Institute for Europe as Managing Director together with Dr. Andreas Liebl. Her goal is to play a key role in shaping the institute’s future and to foster collaboration within the European AI community. She focuses particularly on the development and application of trustworthy AI, AI education for decision-makers and practitioners, as well as the support and promotion of startups and students.
Previously, Dr. Goll headed the Department of Innovation, Strategy, and Transfer at the FZI Research Center for Information Technology for more than five years. She also initiated several impactful projects, including the Digital Hub Karlsruhe Applied Artificial Intelligence, the European Digital Innovation Hub Artificial Intelligence & Cybersecurity, and the SME Digital Center Climate.Neutral.Digital.
As a PhD-trained strategy manager, she is especially passionate about bridging the gap between groundbreaking research and the practical application of AI. She places great emphasis on promoting diversity, for example by supporting women in technical professions. In her view, addressing major societal challenges through new technologies requires bringing together a broad and multifaceted range of expertise.
Together with her dedicated team and the diverse network of the appliedAI Institute for Europe, she strives to shape the AI landscape and build a pioneering community that pushes the boundaries of what is possible.
In her free time, Dr. Goll enjoys spending time outdoors—climbing, hiking, and sailing.
