Carsten Herzhoff, born 1976 in Würzburg (Germany), studied chemistry in Saarbrücken (Germany) and Guildford (UK) and received his PhD in materials chemistry at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research (Stuttgart, Germany). He completed the postgraduate MBA programme at LIMAK Austrian Business School in Vienna (Austria). Since then, he has worked in various management positions for companies in the surface technology and paint & coatings industries in France, Austria and Germany.
Since November 2019, Carsten Herzhoff is Managing Director and CTO/COO of the Lohmann Group, responsible for Operations and Supply Chain, Product and Process Development, Sustainability, Innovation Management and New Business Development.
He is involved in various honorary functions and working groups, including the German National Academic Foundation (lecturer and member of the selection committee), the German Chemical Society (GDCh), the CTO-Forum (Rudolf-Diesel medal), the MIMA Champions Circle (Microsoft & Roland Berger), the Federal Economic Senate of the BVMW (Senator) and the European Industrial Research Management Association (EIRMA).
